In the context of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week celebrated recently, Truckstop contacted over 850 drivers in a bid to get a grasp or a scoop about the lives of such people. The returns demonstrated mind -blowing commitment, as almost every third of these drivers have spent more than a million miles on roads, while over a hundred of them have even crossed two million miles. These facts say a lot about the devotion and tenacity of the drivers who ensure that a large part of America’s supply chains run seamlessly.

In truckers’ eyes, safety is non-negotiable. Of those who had achieved this Thousand Mile March, over sixty percent of those people have done so accident free. This accident free achievement is a testament to the professionalism that drivers embody, even under stressful situations. Their dedication to safety and speed contributes immensely to the timely delivery of various goods across the continent.

Snacks and good music are characteristic of the truck drivers, particularly on long hauls. A figure of 72% of survey participants reported habitude of listening to the Radio or Music whilst driving and approximately one third of them headers Country music. George Strait, Chris Stapleton and Blake Shelton are among the most played artists.

Rock and roll, however, also takes about more than 20 % of the drivers who are keen to listen to bands like AC/DC or Metallica. This combination of cross-country cruising with safety and stamina and one’s own rhythm captures the essence of America’s truck drivers in the heart of its highways.
